Product Description

STEINEL IS 3180 COM1 is a professional wall-mounted motion detector that switches connected lighting when someone enters its detection area. Its square white housing suits building entrances, garages, passageways and utility rooms. IP54 protection supports installation both indoors and outdoors.

Coverage shaped around the building

The 180° PIR sensor detects changes in heat radiation from moving people. A reversible lens provides shorter and longer reach configurations; under suitable installation conditions, movement across the field can be detected up to 20 m away. The included shrouds help exclude a neighbouring path or another unwanted section. Additional look-down protection covers movement directly below the sensor.

Practical everyday settings

Built-in controls adjust the switch-off delay and ambient brightness threshold. A Teach function can store the light level at the installation site, while pulse mode supports connection to a stairwell timer. Where extended lighting is needed, a separate mains switch can activate a four-hour manual override, after which automatic operation resumes.

COM1 switching for connected lights

Article 009113 is the white COM1 version with a switched mains output. It controls separately connected luminaires, with the permissible load determined by the type of lamp used. Up to ten sensors can be wired in a Master/Master parallel arrangement to cover a larger area. Optional RC5, RC8 and Smart Remote accessories provide remote adjustment.

The surface-mounted housing provides space for the connection wiring. A corner bracket is available separately. Position the detector so people cross its detection field and the lens has a clear view of the required area.
